East End residents and visitors alike are a lucky group. Our communities are small, close-knit, safe…and outdoor recreational possibilities abound. What our community lacks, however, is an environment for indoor recreation and cultural activities. The Montauk Playhouse Community Center is changing that.
With Phase I completed with an active and thriving Center, momentum is strong to complete Phase II of this important asset to our community. The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation is focusing its efforts on raising the funds to see the dream fully to reality. IT’S TIME!
The Future plans for an aquatics center, a performing arts center with a glass-roofed lobby, and multi-use community rooms are ready to go. We are confident we will get there with your help and participation.
Nearly 10 million dollars has already been raised with over 6 million dollars from the Town of East Hampton, grants from New York State and another 2.5 million dollars raised privately. MPCCF plans to raise an additional $10 million toward Phase II. To reach this goal, MPCCF holds fundraisers and events throughout the year and is also actively seeking donations and grant funding from individuals, foundations and corporations.
Rest assured, these plans are based on solid research to determine what our community needs and wants, and the feasibility of building and sustaining the completed Playhouse as planned. The Case for our Future has been made, both pragmatically and creatively.
