FUTURE
FACILITIES COMMITTEES
Planning committees for the
future Performing Arts and Aquatics Centers meet regularly to develop
operating, management and architectural plans for each of the facilities.
Both committees are made up of community members with particular interest
and/or expertise in the performing arts or with swimming and aquatics
centers.
Both committees have written
Mission and Vision Statements to help guide them through the planning
process.
AQUATICS COMMITTEE
Mission Statement
To build and maintain aquatic facilities for the health, safety,
recreation and fitness needs of those who reside in the Town of East
Hampton, as well as those who visit our community.
Vision Statement
The aquatic program will provide facilities, programs, resources
and services in order to encourage the discovery of, and the ongoing
participation in, aquatics activities. The provided programs and services
will address a broad range of needs and interests for all ages including
instruction, physical wellness, competitive swim programs, and general
recreation, all of which will positively impact the quality of life
in our community.
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
COMMITTEE
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Performing Arts Center at the Montauk Playhouse
Community Center is to provide quality cultural and educational enrichment
to the diverse East End community: the residents and the visitors, the
adults and the children.
Vision Statement
The performing arts center will offer a wide variety of programs
by professional and community groups, some familiar, some innovative
and courageous. These can include:
~ film series,
~ lecture programs,
~ public readings,
~ programs for children,
~ recitals and concerts, including popular music programs,
~ dance,
~ benefit programs, and
~ live theater.
