Stop in at the Playhouse to check out the new art piece created at the Foundation’s Annual Earth Day Celebration. The piece, a creative take on an excerpt from Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, was made using matte board scraps and a sheet destined for the trash. It hangs at the top of the stairs, just outside the gymnasium.
The Earth Day Celebration was a great success – many children and parents participated in craft projects, a reading of The Lorax and other Earth Day books, and a performance by Miss Melody, a favorite around the East End.
Many thanks to those who donated items or service for the Earth Day event and craft projects: Kathryn Nadeau Custom Framing ~ matte scraps, Lydia Shatternick ~ sheets, both the Amagansett and Montauk IGAs ~ reusable shopping bags, Rachel Kleinberg ~ snacks, and Miss Melody ~ performance.
