Current Activities
With the opening of Human Services and Recreation facilities in the restored structure in April 2006, MPCCF is stepping up its efforts to raise funds needed to complete future construction, including the Aquatic and Performing Arts Centers. For future phases, MPCCF plans to raise funds to match the Town of East Hampton’s commitment of $7 million toward the first phase of construction.
In addition to raising capital funds, MPCCF is currently working with a team of consultants to develop a business plan for the future Aquatic and Performing Arts Centers and continues to work with Island Structures Engineering and ARTEC on Phase II engineering and design plans. In addition, MPCCF plans fundraising events throughout the year, including the Annual Harbor Lights Gala at the Montauk Lake Club and the Annual Chinese Auction during Montauk’s Fall Festival. In 2009, the 80th Anniversary year of the Montauk Playhouse, MPCCF held a number of Community Outreach events including a live performance of Peter and the Wolf, an Earth Day Celebration and an 80th Birthday Party. A schedule of events for 2010 is currently being developed.
