Phase I - Now Open

Opened officially in May 2006, the Montauk Playhouse Community Center has become the social and recreational hub of Montauk. The rehabilitated historic building currently boasts 24,000 square feet of finished space, offering facilities, programming and services for six-week olds through 110-year olds.

Phase I rehabilitation and construction cost approximately $7 million. The Town of East Hampton bonded for most of this amount. Supplementary funding came from a $350,000 grant awarded to the Town of East Hampton by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation for the initial restoration of the structure, and monies raised by the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (MPCCF).
