Hot meals, good conversation and caring interaction are on the menu each day at the Senior Nutrition Center. In addition to the delicious, nutritious, and affordable meals served Monday through Friday – a $3 suggested donation per lunch helps support the program – the Center, which is partially funded by an annual grant from the Town of East Hampton, offers exercise classes, scheduled games, and blood pressure screening.
Those who attend the Senior Nutrition Center can participate in the following regularly scheduled programs, which occur just before, or directly after noon lunch.
Mondays and Wednesdays, 11am – Exercise Class
Tuesdays, directly after lunch – Bingo (prizes include candy, coffee, cereal, and household products)
Thursdays, 1 to 4pm – Scrabble and Chess (a program of the Town of East Hampton Department of Parks and Recreation)
Fridays, directly after lunch – Mexican Train Dominoes
Nurses from the South Fork Community Health Initiative visit the Center every second Thursday of the month to conduct blood pressure screenings, and round table discussions on various health issues, including diabetes and cardiovascular problems, are scheduled throughout the year.
Transportation for those who need it can be provided by the Town of East Hampton.
